While my dad and younger brother went to the Vans Warped Tour, because my younger brother won tickets- the lucky bastard :) , I went to a lecture with my mom about the conflicts between the Netherlands and Germany and the plans for the annexation after the wars. This might sound very boring, but it was quite okay, I guess.
After this lecture, there would be a performance from "twee violen en een bas" (two violins and a bass). They would celebrate and honor twenty years of the Dutch royal family.
Now, just to be clear, I'm not a fan of our Royal house (or monarchy in general). I wasn't quite keen on the idea of going to a performance all about our new king, but we did go because we heard that it wasn't that bad at all. (sorry for the quality of the pictures!)

It turned out to be a very nice show! It wasn't all about "honoring the king with songs", more about the history of our kings (and how foolish they sometimes were and how weird our country actually is). And the music was actually nice! :)
My mom bought two CD's afterwards. Yes, we bought classical music. Aren't we smart and part of "the elite" (as my Dutch teacher would say), now?
I had a lovely day and it became even better when we went to the supermarket afterwards and bought sushi. A nice film and my favorite food: you don't hear me complaining!
You can by the CD's here (see link below):
