Throwback Thursday

I love this new hype!
As it says, you have to post a picture from when you were young, but I'm still pretty young, so I'll just post pictures from when I was... really, really young :)

Here I am seven. This must have been my first "gig".
My mum was playing in a samba-band and I was allowed, once a year, to play with them. How excited I was! :)
I'm the one on the left, who doesn't seem to have any hair. Hmm. strange..

Summer!

It's summer! Yes, it really is
(I had my doubts, because the weather in the last few weeks s*cked, now it's getting too hot, so I'm never satisfied).
Summer means: a lot of time to do absolutely nothing!

I'll have time to clean my room, do some reading, write three whole novels (if only I could!), buy new notebooks and a diary, learn how to speak Esperanto (once tried it, didn't work out that well), make my own dress, drink hot chocolate with everyone I haven't seen for a long time, re-style my room and, oh! I still have to-
wait. Stop!
What happened with the absolutely nothing?
There's no way I'm going to relax this way. So the next few weeks I'll make sure I get enough rest and-
no, I'll just see what comes drifting to me on the summer breeze.

Egmond

We're going to Egmond this summer.
I hope they have one of these places as well!

Kids 'n' Billies 2013

So, this is basically what I did all day:

No, not all day, only for 5 hours and 55 minutes :)
I also listened to a lot of music!
The place where you could make buttons was at the back of the stage, so I could hear everything!

Kids 'n' Billies is a festival that's mostly meant for smaller kids, but also a lot of fun for grown-ups!
There are a lot of things you can do. There were a lot of places where you could craft, or make cars. There were places to eat, buy things, merchandise. And the barber shop, or barber station was there!
This is only for men. Here you can get you hair done, with a lot of grease!

This year Kids 'n' Billies was completely sold out! I was allowed to get in for free, because I signed up as a volunteer.

The day started with Season Crow, winner of Rock 'n' Roll Jonkies. They are a young, but talented band and they have a lot of energy on stage.

After that a break and then: Bob Wayne! He was great! This was the only thing I didn't like: I didn't get to speak to him, too bad! Luckily my brother did:

I didn't really watch Craic Haus, this is his site:
http://www.craichaus.com/fr_home.cfm

I enjoyed the Reverend Beat Man! You should really watch his video's.

During the Apemen I was eating, but I heard it was a nice show.
I saw parts of Traumahelikopter. All those kids dancing on the stage, it must have been an awesome day for them as well :)

And Claw Boys Claw was amazing! It was one of the headliners and everyone was dancing. I had such a lot fun (I already signed up to volunteer next year)!
Here is a part of a song:

Van Lutt

Marlof van Lutt is the new custom-made guitar of Alfred, guitarist from John Coffey!
The guitar is made by Marlof Custom Guitars, in Utrecht.
The guitar has a little mustache! :)

Bob Wayne is coming Saturday to Kids 'n' Billies!

School

School's not out yet.
I'm really, really trying to study, but there are so many things distracting me.
I really messed up the tests I had today.
I was completely sure about French. I had studied well, knew everything... apparently not. I already know I have two whole tasks wrong.
And, well, my knowledge of maths... I just don't have it. I tried my best, though. There was one task about something I didn't have to study, so I'm hoping I'm getting a bonus-point.
We'll see! Here a list of school-songs:

rock 'n' roll higschool | Ramones
I'm having a history and german test tomorrow, so this is certainly true :)
"Well I don't care about history
Rock, rock, rock'n'roll high school
'Cause that's not where I wanna be"

school | nirvana

another brick in the wall | pink floyd
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpxd3pZAVHI

409 in your coffeemaker | green day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqIr6gqcL8U

beauty school drop out | grease :)

catholic school girls rule | red hot chilli peppers

education | pearl jam

There are so many songs about school! I will finish this list later on, I first have to study my words :(

Jera on Air 2013

Last Saturday was Jera on Air!
We went to Ysselsteyn to see Atlas Losing Grip en John Coffey.
We saw a lot of other bands, like Arizona (nice band!), The Ghost Inside and Apologies I have none (which I also liked).

The Computers were looking very good. They all had the same suit on, a bit like the Hives. They say they make punk 'n' roll. Certainly true! We went away after we'd seen a few songs, because Joe Tilston was playing at the punkrockbar (a lot of fun during the karaoke). He played accoustic guitar and it was beautiful. He's the bass/guitarplayer from Random Hand, which we've also seen.

Funeral for a Friend was okay as well. They make hardcore and come from England (often a good sign).
A day to remember and Asking Alexandria (the two big names) weren't really my thing. They're really popular, a lot of people were wearing shirts of those two bands. Which I can understand, the shirts are lovely.

The Cancerbats were a lot of fun! They make hardcore, southern rock and punkrock.
The man who was standing at the merchandise-stand told my dad that he was wearing an old-school shirt (of the victims family), it was a good sign that he knew the band!

I enjoyed the performance of Parkway Drive.
They make a combination of hardcore and metal. Good for the ones who love to mosh!

The big surprise of the day was Random Hand!
This was (along with John Coffey and Atlas Losing Grip) my favorite performance.
They use parts of ska, punk, rock, metal, hardcore and even hiphop for their songs and it gives a wonderful effect. There was a lot of dancing and I certainly recommend listening to it :)

All the way from Sweden: Atlas Losing Grip.
I had never seen them before and was anxious to do so. It was absolutely great!
The instrumental part, their lyrics are strong. I liked everything! Hope to see them again!
I also bought a new shirt (the one from the link, but a girlie) and I'm very happy with it.

And, well, what do I have to explain about John Coffey?
All the gigs they play are awesome! There was a huge wall of death!
Spectacular, sickeningly good, epic, shocking, flabbergasting, etc.
*I know, I know, the video is from Groezrock, couldn't find one from Jera*

I had a fantastic day! Thanks dad :)
