vacation

After a long week of writing essays, doing presentations and thinking about our future movements (we had a special project at school, which lasted a whole week), I'm very glad we're having a vacation!

Next Tuesday's the Queensdayfestival in Venlo and I'm going to do nice things a whole week long. So please, please, pretty please, let the sun shine!

John Coffey

Last Friday, April the 19th, John Coffey performed in Merleyn, Nijmegen.

It was a very nice show and I had an amazing evening!

The Brave was also there, they played at the beginning of the evening.They're from Utrecht and they make punk-rock. I really liked them, so I bought an EP afterwards.

John Coffey was awesome! :)

Some of the members actually recognized my little brother, which made him very happy (and a little bit proud!). They played a lot of songs, even the new one, Dancer Dancer.

Thank you for the evening, I hope to see you again- unfortunately not on Lowlands I'm afraid!

Sturp

STURP is instrumental music: electric guitar, bass, banjo and drums recorded and mixed on an 8-track recorder. STURP is from Amsterdam and has its roots in the Dutch bands Godworst, *BESCHUIT*, Smear and cHokedown.

Molly Gene

Last Saturday, April the 6th, we went to see Molly Gene. She performed at Rinie and Nico's blues café, a café in Blerick, near Venlo. It looks like it is a rebuilt living room, but I'm not really sure. It's a café with a lot of "cowboys" from Limburg. ;)
It was a very nice show! My dad bought a  CD afterwards. We stayed a little longer to see the other band, Imperial Flames, who played a kind of "happy blues", but we didn't watch it 'till the end. 
Molly Gene is a woman who plays slide guitar, foot-drums, harmonica and has a special and different voice. She makes blues, with a bit of a country-touch and she certainly isn't afraid to perform. Please visit her site!

New video

This is the new video of John Coffey, Dirt and Stones:

On April 20th they will release a 7″inch with a previously unreleased song called "Dancer! Dancer!" and their new single Dirt & Stones. The 7″ inch will be released on Record Store Day and John Coffey will play in several record stores to promote their new single!
